Growing up, I went to a Catholic Church where it was always hymns. After my parents divorced, I stopped going to Mass. In high school, I would go on youth retreats and when we would have Mass, it was always contemporary Christian music. I was used to that everytime I went to Mass. When I got to college, the church I attended, and still attend, would have traditional hymns for the morning Mass, and then contemporary Christian music for the evening Mass. I didn’t mind either form of music, but I do have some hard core traditional Catholic friends that oppose contemporary Christian music in the Mass, which I can understand. Now, I would rather hymns in Mass, but I don’t completely oppose contemporary music. I gave a little background to show my opinion.
